What is Conditioned Transport?

We depend on conditioned transport to get products that are subject to spoilage to the right place at the right time. But what is conditioned transport? This means taking care of the goods under the optimal temperature/conditions and conditions. Conditioned transport is therefore also called refrigerated transport or temperature-controlled transport. MOCTB ensures that your temperature-sensitive goods are transported from A to B with our always reliable service.

Applications of conditioned transport

Conditioned transport is used in all modes of transport. This includes temperature-controlled transport by road, sea, rail or air. Guaranteeing quality is paramount in all these modalities!

This form of transport is for transport of:

  • Flowers and plants
  • Vegetables and fruit
  • Meat and Fish Products
  • Dairy products
  • Frozen products
  • Pharmaceutical products
  • ADR transport

Different forms of conditioned transport

You want your goods and products to arrive at the right place with the best quality. By using conditioned transport you ensure that the temperature is continuously monitored and controlled. Temperature-controlled transport can be divided into 3 groups:

Frozen transport: Transport of frozen goods in a container that has a refrigeration system for temperatures from -22 to -1 degrees Celsius.
Refrigerated transport: Transport with temperatures between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius in the cargo box.
Ambient transportation: Transport at a temperature between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. Mainly for transport of goods at room temperatures.

Continuously monitored and controlled

To ensure quality, requirements for vehicles and temperature registration systems have been developed. This is always for the benefit of the health of the end user. Trucks must be ATP approved. The Accord Transport Perissables agreement regulates the international cross-border transport of perishable foodstuffs. Only approved refrigerated and/or frozen vehicles may transport these products. This may be done by road, rail, air or water. Maximum temperatures must be maintained at all times during carriage. Vehicles that have been approved are provided with a sticker. This states the type of vehicle, the insulation value, the temperatures that can be reached and the month and year until which the inspection is valid.

In addition to the inspection certificate for the vehicles, there is also a control system to guarantee the quality of the products. These checks are monitored by temperature registration systems during transport. The HACCP/IFS control system is a protocol for companies involved in food, from preparation to transport and storage. This guarantees the safety of the product by detecting and controlling health risks in preparation, handling and transport processes. This protocol states who is responsible for what and what the responsibilities of the driver are.
