LTL Transport stands for Less than Truck Load Transport, a commonly used term in the transport world. But what is LTL Transport? Translated into Dutch, LTL is 'Less than a Truck Load'. Your cargo takes up part of the loading floor. With LTL transport, different loads from various companies are combined into one full load in a container or truck/trailer (also called FTL transportation). Applications of LTL transportation

LTL transport versus groupage transport

If you have fewer goods to transport than with FTL transport, your cargo falls under LTL transport or groupage transport. In this case, your shipment is combined with different parties to arrive at a full truck. You share the transport costs. An LTL load is often combined with groupage transport. Groupage transport is the name for the transport of goods up to 6 pallets. It takes more time to drive multiple groupage loads for virtually the same route, because the transport is subject to multiple unloading and loading points. This means that your cargo has a longer transit time to reach your desired destination.
